Ward to Chief Data Officer and Mercy A. Ruiz to Director of Corporate Communications. Christian will oversee all data assets of Infogroup including data operations, data platform, and the expanding capabilities around the Infogroup Data Axle ™, which connects data hubs across proprietary and third party data sources. Mercy will head all communications and public relations for the company. Christian joined Infogroup last year as the Senior Vice President for Data Strategy, Analytics and Capabilities, and will now have responsibilities for: platform innovation, high value data initiatives, local business solutions, and the continued improvement in operational and delivery capabilities. He will work equally with internal and external sources to continue evolving Infogroup’s data solutions to meet the ever-expanding goals of the company’s growing clientele.
Mercy also joined the company last year in the Talent division where she led several corporate strategy initiatives and was soon promoted to Internal Communications Manager. She will now lead and develop the communication strategy for the company, coordinating across all of the businesses.
“Infogroup continues to expand both its data assets and the technological capabilities necessary to deliver and integrate those assets,” stated Michael Iaccarino, Chairman and CEO, Infogroup. “Christian’s expertise and entrepreneurial leadership will align those efforts across the business with a focus on innovative solutions going forward. The ability to interpret and align the messaging around these initiatives is critical. Mercy brings with her the intuitive and creative thinking necessary for this to be successful. Christian came to Infogroup from Thomson Reuters, where he was the Global Head of Content Innovation, responsible for content and platform innovation solutions across Investment and Advisory businesses. Previous to Thomson Reuters, he founded Ockham Research, a financial analytics company which combined real-time semantic extraction technologies with traditional fundamental analysis. The firm was sold to xRM Global in 2009 where Christian continued on as Head of Product Strategy.
Prior to founding Ockham, Christian founded Jaywalk Incorporated, a research platform and content delivery company. The Jaywalk platform normalized financial ratings and research reports across the financial industry to provide unbiased recommendation information to professional investment firms and hedge funds. Jaywalk was acquired by the Bank of New York in 2002 where he continued as Managing Director and Director of Research.
Christian received a B.S. in finance, cum laude, from the University of Florida and has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences on independent research, innovation in data platforms, quality performance metrics, and industry regulations and developments around data solutions.
